If you’re confident on a bike, you can also cycle in, cutting that time down by over half. In just 15 minutes you can be right in the heart of town.

As with most cities in the UK, traffic can build up at peak times, so be wary of delays if you choose to drive from Heaton to Newcastle City Centre. You might instead like to take the bus.

There are several different bus routes into town, including the 62 and 63, which you can catch from the Chillingham Road shops. These buses run regularly, every 15 minutes, and the journey into the City Centre tends to be around 20 to 25 minutes.

You can also get the Number 1 bus from the same stop or hop on the 309 Cobalt & Coast service, which will pick you up from Coast Road Corner House.
