Affectionately referred to as “The Toon” by locals, Newcastle City Centre serves as the central business and cultural district of Newcastle upon Tyne.

The architectural charm of Grey Street, adorned with stunning Georgian buildings, is a focal point and is also home to the prestigious Theatre Royal. This area known as Grainger Town, is a designated conservation zone, preserving its historic and architectural significance.

Haymarket is the most convenient Metro station for both universities, Monument sits right in the middle of the shopping streets, and Central Station connects to the main train station. Northumbria’s Ellison Place campus is around 10 to 15 minutes’ walk from the centre, as is the Quayside, and the Grainger Market and Grey’s Monument are right on your doorstep. Our own office is here too, in The Bruce Building on Percy Street, so it’s easy to pop in and talk to the team.

While it’s unlikely that you’ll find large student properties in Newcastle, there are plenty of available flats and apartments where you can enjoy being in the centre of the city’s action.
