Because it’s so central, Sandyford is a great area for anyone who likes to get around on foot or bike. It’s ideal for students enrolled at either Newcastle University or Northumbria, with the main campuses being close enough to stroll to. Here are some approximate journey times:
Newcastle University is a 15-minute walk away — perfect for those 9 am lectures. Keen cyclists can make the journey in no time, and there are plenty of bike lock-ups across the city.
Meanwhile, Northumbria’s Ellison Place campus is even closer, just a 10-minute walk away.
